The onions rings are exactly how I like them. The fish and chips were too greasy, but good enough if you’re hungry. Enjoyable indoor and outdoor atmosphere. A small parking lot but there are nearby street parking.
We stopped by after the Pride 5K with some friends after their recommendation. We had the brunch menu and it was all really good. My daughter loved the kids menu and the atmosphere was typical for a pub type place. Would come back during the evening for some drinks and more food!
Overall, the atmosphere at The Abbey Tavern is very pleasant, homey even. My wife and I went recently as a "just because" date night and found the food very much to our liking, and the service was incredible.
We started our meal off with the pretzel bites that were out of this world.
I got the Shepherd's Pie, and my wife had the Ruben (not pictured). The pie was pretty amazing! The texture of the mashed potatoes blended very well with the meat gravy filling. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they carried Guinness 0 (non alcoholic) as it is one of the only non-alcoholic beers that actually tastes like beer. I appreciate that addition to our meal over something like O'douls.
Our only complaint isn't really a complaint but rather an observation that the Ruben did not contain Sauerkraut and, therefore, it is not truly a Ruben. The coleslaw used as a substitute did not detract from the flavour, however.
Fantastic bar - even better if you enjoy watching Liverpool beat the scum (Man U) 7-0 on a Sunday morning!
Beers are fresh on tap, the food is simple but really well done and the wait staff are the best.
Thoroughly enjoy every visit I have to The Abbey!
Awesome theming, good food, and friendly service. Corned beef Egg Rolls were great. I thought the yellow mustard was an odd choice until I tried it and it's great. Would definitely come again.
What a lovely, comfortable place! The service was fantastic, the food was amazing and the other patrons were so welcoming! Today was my first time there and I truly felt like I belonged. I will definitely go back and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a low key, comfortable atmosphere!
Great Saturday morning brunch. There was sports on the tvs, a well staffed bar, and very satisfying food!
Delicious fish and chips! Excellent, friendly service. Fun atmosphere with a positive vibe. I will definitely come back.
